Guava Jam

  • guavas

  1. Peel the guavas thinly; put them on to boil (whole) over a low to medium heat with enough water to cover them and prevent burning.
  2. Boil until they are very soft.
  3. Take them out of the water and rub them through a sieve until only the seeds are left.
  4. To every 1kg (2lb 3oz) of pulp add 750g (1lb 10oz) of sugar.
  5. Put the fruit and sugar into a clean preserving pan and boil until it reaches setting point.
  6. Bottle in sterilized jars.
